About the Saturday Ride

  • No Spandex required
  • Helmets are required
  • Mimosa and/or Espresso
  • We leave no riders behind
  • We make stop for drinks, food & group pictures
  • Designed for all rider levels
  • Typically under 10 miles

This Saturday

We will take advantage of the Santa Ana and go the distance this Saturday to Liberty Station. The ride will still be mostly flat (5th Avenue will be the only hill). We will go the the Liberty Public Market and everyone one can get what they want and sit together for lunch. Come be a tourist in our own town.

As always, we’ll meet at 10:30am. We’ll have coffee and beverages while we gather, and will depart the Normal Heights shop around 11:00am.


Distance: ~ 10 Miles


Highlights: New Meade Street Bike Lane through Normal Heights, 30th Street Bike Lane through North Park, through South Park and Golden Hill bike routes, new B Street Bike Lanes through the Gas Lamp, Beach Street Bike Line through Little Italy, Harbor Drive Bike Path, Liberty Station Bike Path. Coming back we will go up 5th Avenue through Bankers Hill then University Avenue Bike Lane in Hillcrest to the Vermont Street Pedestrian Bridge to the Maryland Bike Lane through University Heights to the Madison Avenue Bike Lane.


Finish: We’ll finish the ride back at the Normal Heights shop, sometime around 1:30pm.

This Sunday

This is one of our favorite routes…it’s short but has plenty of climbing.


Distance: ~ 43 Miles


Elevation: ~ 2,600 Feet


Start: We will depart from Uptown Bicycles Bankers Hill Location at 8:30am.


Route: We'll make our way to Mt. Soledad through Hillcrest and Mission Hills. We will summit Mt. Soledad, then head to Windansea Beach. We'll follow the coast back through OB and out to Sunset Cliffs Tide Pools at the end of Point Loma. Then we head back to the shop through Point Loma and N Harbor Drive.
