Uptown Bicycles COVID-19 Update

Yes, we are open and serving the community! The health and well-being of our employees, customers and friends remains our top priority. To do our part to help slow the spread of COVID-19 we are taking special precautions & monitoring state and federal recommendations for providing a safe environment for our customers and employees. Our status and procedures are subject to change as new information or recommendations are available.

We are proud of the fact that California considers our services as essential, and we take our responsibility in our local & national community seriously.  We are currently remaining open 7 days a week at both locations, we are shipping nationally, and are currently expecting no delays for products currently available in-store & on our website.

In addition to California state and CDC regulations, and guidelines; we have implemented new policies to ensure a safe environment.  Our status and procedures are subject to change as new information or recommendations are available.

Our Role in Curbing the spread of COVID-19:

We have shortened our business hours at our Normal Heights location, in order to allow our staff time to properly sanitized and organize the shop as we are expecting a higher than normal volume of customers.  The new hours are listed on our Homepage as well as the information page for our locations: Normal Heights & Bankers Hill.

Customers are required to use hand sanitizer upon entry of our shops.  We provide a hand sanitation station by the front door of each of our locations.

Customers are asked to follow the CDC recommendation to maintain a 6 foot distance from others. 

One customer at a time is permitted in the shop.  This does mean that, at times there is a line to access our shop, and customers are asked to maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from other customers while waiting in line.

After entering the store, please refrain from touching bikes, countertops, products and other non-essential surfaces. 

Our Service Department is experiencing an increase in service jobs, while being limited in capacity due to social distancing requirements. We are working hard, and are doing our best to stay on schedule, but some delays are bound to occur.  We thank our awesome customers for their patience and understanding. Our service department cannot accept all service jobs, and may regret-tingly have to turn away some jobs.  If you have any question as to our acceptance of your service job, please give us a call. (619)795-7222

We have reduced our staffing. In order to avoid employees and/or customers from coming within 6 feet of one another, we have implemented reduced staffing levels.  At a given time we allow no more than 1 employee & 1 customer in our smaller Normal Heights location, and 1 mechanic, 1 employee on the floor & 1 customer at our larger Bankers Hill location.

We prohibit employees and request our customers not enter the store if feeling ill or showing signs of illness.

We partner with supply warehouses across the nation that are as dedicated to safely keeping cyclists riding.
